以农资行业上市公司为例,对专利活动与农业企业绩效的关系进行了研究。通过二项式分布滞后模型(PDL),比较了专利申请与营销努力对公司绩效的影响。回归结果表明,公司的专利申请量与公司下一年度的营业收入具有相关性,但其作用低于营销努力对营业收入的作用,而专利申请量对公司的利润没有产生显著影响。研究结果表明目前我国农业企业主要还是营销驱动而非技术创新驱动,技术创新活动对农业企业发展的促进作用还需要加强。

This paper discusses the relationship between patenting activities and Chinese agricultural companies’ performances in the case of listed companies in the agricultural materials industry. With the PDL model, the effects of patent applicant and marketing efforts on the companies’ performances are compared. The results indicate that the number of patent applicants in the current year is significantly related to the amount of companies’ sales in the next year, but the role that the patent applicants play on companies’ sales is less important than that of marketing efforts. In addition, the patent applicants haven’t shown significant effect on the companies’ profits. Our research indicates that at present the development of our agricultural companies mainly depend on the marketing efforts , rather than on the technology innovation. The role of technology innovation on the development of Chinese agriculture companies need to be enhanced in the future.
