Abstract:The paper is based on the ecological features of the Yangtze Economic Belt Cities and the Drive-Pressure-Status-Influence-Response model. It constructs an ecological security evaluation index system with characteristics of the Yangtze economic zone, and then obtains the weights of the indexes by principle component analysis, and builds the ecological security evaluation model by using the gray system theory. It takes Wuhan City as its object of study and evaluates Wuhan's ecological security status in the recent ten years. Based on the results of the evaluation, the paper offers suggestions. The results of the study show that the ecological security level during 2001 and 2014 is rising on the whole, and that it reaches a peak in the year of 2014 with excellent ecological security.
