Abstract:The coordinated development level of higher education and scientific and technological innovation is an important symbol to measure the degree of national development. On the basis of literature review, this paper introduces Porter's "Diamond Model" framework to construct the evaluation index system of coordinated development of regional higher education and scientific and technological innovation in China, and uses the coupling coordination degree model to evaluate and interpret the complex coupling relationship between regional higher education and scientific and technological innovation. The results show that the coupling effect between regional higher education and science and technology innovation is strong; regional higher education coexists in advance, synchronization and lagging behind the development of science and technology innovation; the coordinated development of regional higher education and science and technology innovation is not good, the overall level is low, and regional differences are significant, only Guangdong and Jiangsu are good coordinated development. No region has yet reached the category of high-quality and coordinated development. Finally, the paper puts forward the promotion strategies of the government in strengthening the overall coordination of education and scientific and technological resources, and promoting the interactive development of enterprises and universities.
