Abstract:[Purpose/Significance] This paper aims to analyze the status and trends of global e-government, and identify the gaps between china’s e-government construction in China and leading countries’, which can be used to guide future construction and research. [Method/Process] Using 150 countries as the study object whose data are complete in the United States E-Government Surveys from 2003 to 2018, it analyzes the status and trends of global e-government with methods including cross-tabulation, and benchmarks China’s e-government index against those of the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. [Result/Conclusion] The global e-government has undergone three stages: online information service-focused, online interactive service-focused, and online and offline service-integrated. At present, many countries are making all-out efforts to promote scene-driven applications by electronic connection and big data analysis. China should be bases on the construction of the integrated online government services platform as an opportunity, and promote scene-driven applications in every field through trans-hierarchical government integration, trans-sectoral government integration, and integration between governments and society.
