Abstract:In view of the large number of inconsistencies in the research on the impact of informal network embedding strategies on individual creativity, this paper divides individual creativity into stages, and matches corresponding relational embedding strategies according to different types of innovation. Through theoretical analysis, it is concluded that strong relationship is more suitable for the stage of creative realization, while weak relationship is more suitable for the stage of creative generation. The strategy of investing in two kinds of relationship may reduce individual creativity. Better embedded networks for technology-driven or radical innovation types are strong relationships. Therefore, the decision-making of informal relationship embedding strategy based on the improvement of individual creativity needs to weigh the benefits and costs of the two relationship strategies and comprehensively consider the contingency factors applicable to the choice of strategies.
