以人工智能为代表的新一代信息技术有望引发第四次科技革命的浪潮,并成为世界各国争相占领的技术高地和经济高质量发展的重要技术突破口。本文基于中国2006-2018年28个省的面板数据,构建中介效应模型,以制造业创新链作为中介渠道,分析人工智能对地区经济高质量发展的影响。研究发现:人工智能对各省份经济高质量有显著的促进作用,制造业创新链在其中发挥重要的中介作用。与中西部地区相比,人工智能对东部地区经济高质量发展的促进作用更强;与2013年之前相比,人工智能的影响集中于2013年以及之后的时期。此外,人工智能主要通过制造业创新链的投入和产出环节,促进地区经济高质量发展,而市场应用环节的中介作用并不显著。

The new generation of information technology represented by artificial intelligence is expected to trigger the wave of the fourth scientific and technological revolution and become a technological highland occupied by countries all over the world and an important technological breakthrough for high-quality economic development. Based on the panel data of 28 provinces in China from 2006 to 2018, this paper constructs an intermediary effect model, takes the manufacturing innovation chain as the intermediary channel, and analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence on the high-quality development of regional economy. It is found that AI plays a significant role in promoting the high quality of economy in various provinces, in which the manufacturing innovation chain plays an important intermediary role. Compared with the central and western regions, artificial intelligence plays a stronger role in promoting the high-quality economic development of the eastern region; Compared with before 2013, the impact of AI is concentrated in 2013 and beyond. In addition, AI mainly promotes the high-quality development of regional economy through the input and output links of manufacturing innovation chain, while the intermediary role of market application link is not significant.
