Abstract:The development of socially responsible product is an important form of corporate social innovation, which significantly differ from the general new product development. According to content domain, level domain and stage domain, a cube model of socially responsible product development can be constructed. The process of socially responsible product development can be divided into five stages of concept development, product design, product testing, social and economic assessment and commercialization and scaling up. The enterprises should manage effectively the development of socially responsible product by maintaining the fit with corporate social strategy, establishing cross-functional team of socially responsible product development, strengthening cooperation with external stakeholders, using effectively a variety of product innovation tools, and paying attention to communication and education on consumer.
