Abstract:Firstly, this paper summed up the economic factors and institutional factors affecting China"s outward foreign direct investment in Central Asia, based on the review of OFDI theory and other relevant literatures. Furthermore, the empirical research on foreign direct investment stock and various factors was conducted with the panel data of the Central Asian country from 2003 to 2012. The study found that China"s FDI in Central Asia was to seek low-cost labor and the vast size of the market, followed by the motivation of getting rich oil and gas resources. In addition, Chinese companies tend to invest in those countries which have similar regulatory quality, legal systems and the containment corruption efforts with China.
