Abstract:Take 31 provincial unit in China as the study area. This paper using the spatial panel data, using exploratory spatial data analysis and spatial econometric methods analyzed on Chinese provincial innovation evolution and influence factors. Results shows that: during the study period of 1997-2013, provincial innovation spatial agglomeration degree increasing, the spatial proximity effect is increasing, the overall spatial difference presents the expanding trend. Regional innovation at the core of the region is relatively stable in Yangtze river delta and the pearl river delta region, the core area is shrink in the eastern coastal. At the same time, in the Midwest have a trend of expansion. By building the spatial econometric model, the provincial units of the influence factors of the innovation output has carried on the empirical research, it is concluded that: the R D personnel of full-time equivalent, R D spending, imports and exports of high technology product has significantly positive effect on innovation. And adjacent space unit of GDP has significant positive effect on provincial innovation output. Market turnover has a positive effect on provincial technology innovation, but it no significant spillover effects. Finally, this paper put forward the eastern, central and western region difference innovation countermeasures and suggestions.
