本研究以中国创业板上市公司专利数据库为基础,实证检验了企业专利数量、专利质量与企业长短期业绩的相关性,结果表明：1)专利数量与企业短期业绩呈显著的倒U型关系,专利数量与企业长期业绩不相关；2)专利质量与企业短期业绩存在显著的正相关性,专利质量与企业长期业绩呈显著的U型关系。

This study utilizes Chinese GEM enterprises’ patent data to explore the relationship between patents count, quality and firm performance. The results demonstrate that the influence of patent count is nonlinearly inverted U-shaped on firms’ short-term performance, while it has no significant effect on firms’ long-term performance. Patent quality has a significantly positive influence upon firms’ short-term performance, and its influence on the long-term performance is nonlinearly U-shaped.
