Abstract:Based on C-D Production Function Solow residual method widely used measure the contribution rate of technological advances in agriculture, but there are some scholars from different angles indicates that the method has some defects, leading to inaccurate measurement results. In this paper, the author use the residual value method to estimates the cotton‘s contribution rate of technological progress in Hubei Province under production fluctuations, obtained the result that there is a big difference between adjacent to the contribution rate of technological advances.The result shows that using the residual value to get the contribution rate of technological progress is not reliable. Therefore, we need to reconsider whether treat the contribution rate of technological advances as a indicator in agriculture .
