Abstract:Using 2005-2014 panel data of China’s 30 provincial administrative regions (excluding Tibet and Macao), under the condition of environmental regulation, the impact of foreign direct investment, outward foreign direct investment, import and export trade on green technology innovation is analyzed, the results are as follows: from the perspective of regions, under the condition of environmental regulation, FDI, OFDI, import and export trade have positive impacts on green technology innovation of the whole nation, eastern and central regions, but have no significant effect on the western region; from the perspective of the impact extent, under the condition of environmental regulation, import trade and foreign direct investment have the greatest impact on the national green technology innovation, and in the eastern region, the foreign direct investment has the greatest impact on the green technology innovation ability, followed by OFDI, but in the central region, OFDI has the greatest impact on the green technology innovation, followed by FDI, and the impacts in the western region are not significant. Therefore, in order to promote the sustainable development of economy and improve the level of green technology innovation, the regional development strategy should be established in line with its own actual development strategy.
