Abstract:The National Science Foundation set up the science of science and innovation policy program (SciSIP) in 2006. SciSIP supports that the researchers from multidisciplinary fields develop the frameworks, tools and datasets, and participate in the development of the research community of science policy. Since the implementation of SciSIP, more than 300 projects have been funded, and a number of results of them have been adopted by decision makers. This paper focused on the projects funded by SciSIP from 2007 to 2016, and analyzed their purposes, topics, types, distributions in the states and institutions, cooperation, funding and data research projects; then explored the enlightenment of SciSIP on the development of science policy research in China.
