Abstract:This paper analyzes the overall development efficiency of the advanced equipment manufacturing industry in 27 provinces and cities in China from 2000 to 2014 by using cluster analysis and super-efficient BCC model. The results show that since the 21st century, the development scale of China's advanced equipment manufacturing industry has been growing steadily. The comprehensive efficiency is mainly dependent on the pure technical efficiency. The scale efficiency has been increasing in the period of 2000-2006. In 2014, the development efficiency of China's advanced equipment manufacturing industry reached the highest value in 15 years. On the whole, the development efficiency of eastern, central and western regions showed obvious gradient characteristics, mainly dependent on economies of scale.Through the empirical analysis, the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions on improving technological innovation and optimizing regional resources for the development of advanced equipment manufacturing industry in China.
