Abstract:Literature retrieval quality is an important issue which has been paid common attention by scientific researchers and librarians, while its simple and ideal evaluation methods have not been found yet. This study established literature search quality evaluation scale based on principles of globality, systematicness, veracity, consistency, simplicity, operability, controllability and targeting. The reliability and validity of the evaluation scale were also determined and analyzed. Results showed that the coefficient of scale reliability index Cronbach"s α was 0.925. The Cronbach"s α of criterion layers including literature retrieval knowledge evaluation, literature retrieval process evaluation, literature search results evaluation and information utilization degree was 0.751, 0.814, 0.840 and 0.830 respectively; correlation coefficient between comprehensive evaluation and criterion layer was 0.5-0.9; 28 indexes whose factor loading were greater than 0.5 were determined by factor analysis, their accumulated variance contribution rate reached 71.06%. Thus, the evaluation scale passed reliability and validity test. This index system passed related tests and was optimized, which can provide effective basis for evaluation of literature information retrieval analysis in scientific research.
