国家实施“双一流”建设的大背景下，中国研究型大学科研培育机制改革要有愿景、激情和行动,改革的逻辑起点就是“一切为了学生”和“为了学生一切”。从大学首要职能和美国一流大学发展的成功经验来看，“一切为了学生”是探寻中国研究型大学科研培育机制改革的缘起；“为了学生一切”要求中国研究型大学必须从重构科研培育的理念，改革科研培育的评价标准，改善科研培育的内部治理机制，完善科研培育的激励机制，构建科研培育的监督机制等方面重构中国研究型大学科研培育机制的路径。
