Abstract:Whether the central position in the inter-organizational networks would benefit firm performance? Most of the recent studies adopt a linear view and came up with inconsistent results. We build a moderated mediation model to investigate a curvilinear relationship employing entrepreneurial orientation as the mediator and the environmental uncertainty as the moderate. The results suggested that: (1). There is an inverted U shape relationship between network centrality and performance; (2). Network centrality has an inverted U shape relationship with entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurship orientation would mediate the relationship between network centrality and performance; (3). Environmental uncertainty would moderate the relationship between network centrality and entrepreneurial orientation, and have an indirect effects on the performance.
