Abstract:Knowledge transfer is an important way for organizations to continuously innovate and gain competitive advantage. Studying the impact of multidimensional proximity on inter-organizational knowledge transfer helps organizations in innovation networks to choose innovative partners scientifically and improve innovation performance. Based on the patent data of OLED industry during 2007-2016, we build 40-organization level explicit and tacit knowledge transfer networks, and explore the impact of geographic proximity, technology proximity and social proximity on inter-organizational explicit and tacit knowledge transfer by using QAP analysis. The results show that the 3 kinds of proximities have different effects on inter-organizational explicit and tacit knowledge transfer, also there is an interaction between multidimensional proximity. Specifically, technology proximity and social proximity have significant positive effects on inter-organizational explicit and tacit knowledge transfer. Geographic proximity has an insignificant effect on inter-organizational explicit and tacit knowledge transfer, but it can positively adjust the influence of technology proximity and social proximity on inter-organization tacit knowledge transfer.
