Abstract:In today's world, information technology has developed rapidly and infiltrated to the service industry continuously, resulting in a new service industry—modern information service industry, which has become an important booster of the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry. In the aspects of comprehensive efficiency, pure technical efficiency, scale benefit and projection analysis, this paper applies DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis)to analyze information technology services’ promoting efficiency to the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry based on the data of national sequence and provincial cross section. The results show that the information technology service industry has significantly improved the overall efficiency of the upgrading of manufacturing industry since 2000, which mainly thanks to the reason that rapid development of "Internet +" modern information technology service industry has optimized the industrial structure of manufacturing industry. However, the projection analysis shows that as an input factor, the information technology service has not reached the optimal allocation ratio, and the manufacturing output is still insufficient. In addition, because of the different development degree of manufacturing and information technology services in China’s 31 provinces, there are obvious provincial differences in the promotion of information technology service industry to the upgrading of manufacturing industry. Finally, some suggestions are put forward to promote the efficiency of transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.
