Abstract:By searching and analyzing the patent data of Zhejiang and Guangdong within the latest 31 years, we have found that there are different modes of technological innovation in the two provinces: In Zhejiang, technology innovation is distributed in relatively broad fields in a balanced way, and informatization, industrialization and agricultural modernization have advanced together, presenting the characteristic of coordinative innovation of diversified subjects like universities and colleges, scientific research institutions, and enterprises. In Guangdong, technology innovation is highly concentrated and unbalanced, mainly concentrated in information industry, and dominated by enterprises. At present, the two provinces are confronted with the problems like that, traditional industries suffer from relevantly heavy pressure of technological reconstruction and upgrading, enterprises do not play a prominent dominating and guiding role in technology innovation and their relative advantages in technology innovation are shrunk, universities, colleges and scientific research institutions have low transformation rate of scientific and technological achievements, etc. Therefore, in the future, the two provinces shall construct regional innovation systems with their respective characteristics, implement pertinent scientific and technological policies, strengthen the connection of industrial policies and scientific technological policies, and raise the patent quality of universities, colleges and scientific research institutions, as well as their ability to operate and transform intellectual property rights.
