Abstract:Finding external cooperation has become an important strategic measure for many enterprises to improve organizational performance, at present, the existing literature analyzing its impact on enterprise innovation ability and organizational performance is rare from the perspective of different partners. This paper divides different partners into peer partners, research institutions (universities) and suppliers (customers), it analyzes the influence of different partners on enterprise innovation ability and organizational performance by making use of 119 small and medium-sized enterprises data of Zhejiang. The results reveal that cooperation with suppliers (customers) has a direct positive impact on the innovation ability and organizational performance; Cooperation with research institutions (universities) has a direct positive impact on the innovation ability of enterprises, while it has no direct significant impact on organizational performance, but indirectly affects organizational performance through enterprise innovation ability; The cooperation with peer companies has no significant impact on the innovation ability and organizational performance.
