Abstract:The level of regional innovation ability represents the strength of regional competitiveness and social vitality, but also determines its position in the regional economic pattern. Taking the Pearl River Delta region as an example, the innovation capability of the region from 2010 to 2015 was evaluated by using the min-max standardized analysis method. Empirical analysis shows that the regional innovation capability of the Pearl River Delta is on the rise, but there are still some problems such as unbalanced innovation capability between cities, low expenditure on education and science and technology, and ineffective transformation of knowledge. On this basis, the reasons for these problems are analyzed, and specific improvement measures are put forward.
