Abstract:What level of internationalization degree would be more conducive to improve the international performance of international new ventures (INVs) under what situations? Centreing on this question, taking the panel data of 30 listed international new ventures in the seven years of 2011-2016, this paper empirically tests the relationships among internationalization degree of INVs, knowledge intensity and firm performance. The research results show that the inverted U-shaped curve relationship between internationalization degree of INVs and firm performance, knowledge density positively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between both. They not only enrich the discussions about the relationship between internationalization degree of INVs and firm performance and its boundary conditions, but also supply suggestions about how executives improve the firm performance of INVs.
