Abstract:Based on the input-output table of Beijing in 2012, the author has compiled the non-competitive input-output table of Beijing and calculated the relationship between science and technology service industry and the economic growth, and the driving effect on the industry. The conclusions are following. First, the correlation between the science and technology service industry and the economic growth is higher, and the contribution to the economic growth is higher than the first, second industry and the third industry without the science and technology service industry. Second, the driving effect of science and technology service industry on industries added value was greater, but the driving effect on industries total output was only little more than average level. Thirdly, scientific research and technical services are lower than those of the financial sector on the capacity of driving added value and the ratio of operating surplus to tatal output. Therefore, the primary task of developing science and technology service industry in Beijing is to improve the efficiency of R&D, strengthen the transformation of achievements, so as to improve the added value of products, and enhance the ability of scientific research and technology service industry to promote added value.
