Abstract:Since transgenic plants and animals have been used as commercial foods for daily consumption, technical issues, political and economic issues, and philosophical and ethical issues became the focus of debate on genetically modified foods. In response to these controversies, the group of scientists failed to play the role because the contemporary scientific system faced a crisis of scientific credibility. This study taken the GM food dispute as the research object, analyzed the internal and external incentives of the scientific credibility crisis in the GM food dispute, including the trust dilemma in the scientific community recognition, the poor conversion of the scientific language, the failure of the scientific institution to fulfill its social responsibility, and the imperfection of the scientific credibility authorized mechanism. Based on these analyses, we focused on the social construction path of China"s scientific credibility in norms, education, and communication.
