This paper analyzes the patent data in the field of artificial intelligence collected in the Derwent Innovation Index. From the overall situation, R&D area and R&D institutions aspect of analysis, this paper deeply discusses the global patent layout and competition situation in the field of artificial intelligence. The research finds that the field of artificial intelligence is in a period of rapid growth. The United States, China, and Japan are both important international market places and important sources of technological innovation . China's R&D activity is high, and the dominant technology areas focus on image recognition, Speech recognition, intelligent search and neural network algorithms.
