Abstract:As the pressure on carbon emission reduction increases, clean, non-polluting new energy sources are gradually recognized by society. The academic community has not given a definitive answer as to whether or not a new energy industry cluster is formed in China and its scale. Therefore, this paper takes the new energy industry as the entry point and studies the relationship between the scale, distribution and economic growth of China"s new energy industry clusters from the perspective of industrial clusters, and provides reference for the development of new energy industry. The results show that: (1) The new energy industry has only formed industrial clusters in the six provinces and cities of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong, Anhui and Jiangxi. (2) In the spatial pattern, the industrial clusters show a decreasing pattern from east to west, showing a strong spatial correlation. (3) There is a significant negative correlation between the scale of new energy industry clusters and economic growth.
