Abstract:At present, innovation has become an important factor driving China's socio-economic development, but relatively few literatures have studied the status of China's social innovation capacity and its influencing factors in detail. This paper uses the spatial panel data of 31 provinces and cities in China from 2008 to 2017, uses the spatial autocorrelation model (SAC), and constructs the adjacency weight matrix and geographic distance matrix to examine the heterogeneity and relevance of the impact of Internet development on regional innovation capabilities. . Research shows that regional innovation capacity will form a spatial dependency; Internet development will significantly promote the improvement of regional innovation output levels, and this promotion has spatial heterogeneity. Compared with eastern regions, central and western regions cannot fully utilize the network. Effect, the promotion of Internet development is weak. Further research found that the development of the Internet will indirectly enhance regional innovation capabilities through foreign direct investment, but the indirect impact is less than the direct impact of the Internet on regional innovation capabilities.
