Abstract:[Purpose/Significance]In order to explore progress and trends of international science and technology policy research, [Method/Progress]based on 6,671 pieces of relevant literature from Web of Science, this paper presents the prospect of international science and technology policy research from the aspects of spatial and temporal distribution, research direction, research institutions, publications, research topics and trends. [Result/Conclusion]It turns out that the United States produced the most researches, followed by Britain. Research directions were diversified. Among the top 30 institutions that published most researches, the United States had 17 seats and Britain had 5 seats, and also China, as well as Australia had 2 seats respectively. issued the most papers and other publications focused on topics of ecological and environmental science, regional development, technology management and innovation, S&T and human society. Research topics included collaborative governance and policy innovation diffusion, technology policy and innovation incentive, environmental policy and public health policy, endogenous growth and so on. The research focus is shifting to principles and frameworks of innovation system, institution and policy.
