Abstract:Based on the panel data of 11 provinces in western China from 2008 to 2017, this paper measures and evaluates the quality of new industrialization, and explores the spatial dependence of the development of new industrialization quality in western China and the spatio-temporal mechanism of influencing factors. The results show that: (1) considering only the spatial relation of geographical distance, the spatial distribution of new industrialization quality in western China presents a trend of high-high agglomeration and high-low polarization, forming a spatial pattern with relatively obvious evolutionary spatial difference. The factors that affect the quality development of new industrialization in western China have spatial spillover effect.Resources, openness and technology promote the quality development of new industrialization in western regions, while capital, labor force and government scale hinder the improvement of the quality of industrialization in western regions. In western China, ecological assessment mechanism and industrial policy layout should be implemented according to local conditions, investment and construction of human capital, information technology and infrastructure should be carried out reasonably, and ecological oriented target responsibility system should be implemented with spatial spillover effect. To improve the carrying capacity of ecological system, slow down the speed of economic growth, improve the quality performance level of industrialization, and realize the spatial pattern of high-quality development of new industrialization in western China.
