Abstract:[Purpose/significance] This paper used the FMEA-FTA method to discuss the analysis and evaluation of the intellectual property risks of major research groups, what’s more it studied the identification, prevention and control of the key risk. It helped the scientific research unit to prevent intellectual property risks, and improve their intellectual property management capability. It also provided data and method references for intellectual property risk research in the scientific and technological field. [Method/process] In this paper, the security system methodology FMEA and FTA were combined to carry out major research groups’ intellectual property risks study. It analyzed the potential consequences, possibility and causes of the risks, identified and evaluated key risk, and proposed Prevention, control and early warning measures according to the key risk. Therefore, it formed a ubiquitous scientific research unit intellectual property risk management model that was conducive to pre-risk identification, evaluation, early warning and resolution, and conducted empirical research with this model. [Result/conclusion] The empirical result showed that this model effectively analyzed and evaluated 12 types of potential risks in the intellectual property activities of major research groups, identified key risk, and analyzed the order of the importance of basic events for the key risk, and finally formulated prevention-control strategy for targeted risks.
