Abstract:Spin-off entrepreneurship is an important way for R&D institutes to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. However, the issue of how to generate entrepreneurial ability through the design of organizational structure and mechanism to ensure the smooth development of derivative entrepreneurship activities has been unresolved. Based on the theory of resource orchestration, this paper analyzes the case of Xi’an institute of optics and precision mechanics of CAS from the perspective of platform organization, and explores the organizational structure and operation mechanism of platform organization of R&D institutes, as well as its effect on spin-off entrepreneurship. The research shows: Based on the open organizational boundary, R&D institutes form the platform core with coupling of multiple sub platforms and the platform edge with the characteristics of multiple heterogeneous subjects and integration of industrial chain innovation chain, and operate according to the mechanism of top-down empowerment, bottom-up resource backwardness, talent management mode optimization and collaborative competition interaction. The above characteristics will promote the utilization of internal and external resources So as to promote spin-off entrepreneurship. This paper further expands the boundary of platform organization theory, so as to provide reference for the transformation of R&D institutes.
