Abstract:In order to grasp the development level of scientific and technological talents in various regions of China and provide a basis for the development ideas of improving the overall competitiveness of scientific and technological talents, this paper uses factor analysis and cluster analysis to comprehensively evaluate the competitiveness level of scientific and technological talents in 31 provinces in China from 2016 to 2018. Both the factor analysis method and the cluster analysis method have obtained the same analysis results: the eastern, central and western of China have formed a pattern of declining steps, while the eastern coastal areas have maintained their leading position in science and technology and are relatively stable, and this pattern is not only difficult to change in the short term, but also it may continue to intensify; the competitiveness of scientific and technological talents in the three northeastern provinces is in a declining trend; resource investment is the most important factor in promoting the competitiveness of scientific and technological talents in many areas.
