Abstract:In order to study how to improve the R&D investment and innovation performance of cluster enterprises, a two-stage game model between leading enterprises and following enterprises is established. The paper focuses on the impact of R&D mode, technology spillover and R&D difficulty on R&D investment, profit and social welfare. The results show that: (1)R&D competition, low technology spillover and low R&D difficulty can help to improve the total R&D investment of cluster. R&D coordination, high technology spillover and low R&D difficulty are helpful to improve the total profit and social welfare of cluster. (2) The impact of R&D investment of leading enterprises on following enterprises’s R&D investment, output and profit is related to technology spillover, but the R&D investment of following enterprise will have negative influence on the R&D investment, output and profit of leadin’g enterprises. (3)Leading enterprises tend to R&D coordination and low technology spillover, while following enterprise tend to R&D competition and high technology spillover. Therefore, if we want to maximize the total profit and social welfare of the cluster, government intervention and other methods are necessary.
