Abstract:The process of enterprise transformation and upgrading is the process of expanding the scope of activities of the value chain and making a leap toward a “chain owner” based on the continuous improvement of “core competitiveness”. This research takes Luming Technology, Hisense Group, Sany Heavy Equipment, and Huawei Group as the research objects, and adopts a multi-case comparative research method to study the mechanism of enterprises" independent innovation to promote transformation and upgrading. The results show that entrepreneurship, organizational learning and networking capabilities are the main factors influencing enterprises" independent innovation. The process of independent innovation can spontaneously promote the transformation of business areas, development concepts and learning capabilities of enterprises, thereby promot the transformation and development of enterprises. Compared with the early research results related to enterprise transformation and upgrading, this case study covers the prominent problems faced in the process of enterprises" transformation,operates on a typical factual evidence basis,and summarizes “how to build independent innovation capability” in the process of enterprise transformation.
