Abstract:Based on the integration of informatization and industrialization, this paper explores the upgrading path of China's manufacturing global value chain. Using the panel data of 17 manufacturing industries in China from 2000 to 2014, this paper empirically tests the impact and mechanism of information embeddedness on global value chain participation in manufacturing industry. The results show that: information embeddedness can significantly promote the improvement of the manufacturing industry's apparent comparative advantage, which is mainly achieved through technological innovation and labor cost improvement; for the manufacturing industry as a whole, information embeddedness mainly enhances the dominant comparative advantage in the global value chain participation of manufacturing industry through labor cost intermediary; the impact and transmission mechanism of information embeddedness are in progress There are significant differences when it is used in manufacturing industry of different technology levels. The combination of high-tech manufacturing industry and information technology is better, the intermediary effect of technological innovation and labor cost is significant, while that of low-tech manufacturing industry is low in technology level, weak in combination of information technology, and the intermediary effect is not significant.
