Abstract:Abstract: Taking innovation as the driving force and urban agglomeration as the carrier is an significant economic development strategy for a period of time in the future. Moreover,the continuous improvement of innovation capacity is increasingly affected by the urban network. Therefore, this paper takes the developing Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration as the research object, constructs the urban network with the inter-city Baidu index and joint patent as the variables, measures the innovation capacity from the three aspects among innovation output, input and environment, and then uses the quadrant diagram to analyze the correlation between the two and their spatial-temporal changes. Finally, the obstacle degree model is used to identify the relevant obstacles to the further improvement of the innovation ability of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, so as to provide policy suggestions for the future urban network development planning in this region to better serve the improvement of the innovation ability.
