Abstract:By using the SBM-GML model, this paper measures the green total factor productivity of China's mariculture industry, and decomposes it from four aspects: pure technical efficiency change, scale effect on technical efficiency, pure technological change and scale effect on technological change. This paper also discusses the determinants of the green total factor productivity of mariculture industry and its mechanism, using FGLS model for regression analysis. It is discovered that: the green total factor productivity index in China shows an obvious upward trend. The increase of green total factor productivity in China's mariculture industry is mainly driven by pure technological changes. Scale effect on technical efficiency and scale effect on technological change have a stimulating effect yet slight influence on it, while pure technological efficiency changes have a negative impact on it. The empirical results show that economically incentive-based environmental regulations are negatively related to green total factor productivity. Investment in marine science and education, intensity of training on fishermen, strength of technology promotion intensity can promote the increase of green total factor productivity. Fishery industrial opening and the industrial development have no significant impacts.
