Abstract:In the energy "dual control" target outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan, Energy consumption per unit of GDP in Guangdong Province will have to fall by 13.5% by 2025. In the absence of a major breakthrough in energy-saving technology, Guangdong Province urgently needs to tap the potential of energy intensity decline and find a feasible technical path to reduce energy intensity. This paper firstly summarizes the energy utilization situation in Guangdong Province and analyzes the energy intensity level of Guangdong Province, secondly, analyzes the potential of energy intensity declining in Guangdong Province from the internal optimization of energy structure, industrial structure and secondary industry structure, and finally, from the three industries structure adjustment, the internal structure optimization of the secondary industry, energy-saving technological transformation and technological progress in emerging energy industries, gives the optimal technical decline path of Energy Intensity in Guangdong Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The optimization and adjustment of industrial structure and energy technology progress will be the key to the successful realization of the energy intensity reduction target of Guangdong Province.
