Abstract:Large research infrastructures (LRIs) are the most cutting-edge, innovative, large-scale and influential research system, which plays an increasingly important role in national technological innovation system and development strategy. In order to have a deep understanding of the role of LRIs in scientific development, give full play to the research potential of the facilities, support the overall layout of future facilities, in-depth study of its impact on the developments of subject areas is required. Taking collider as research object, put forward the impact mechanism of LRIs on the development of subject areas. By combining the evolution processes of citation distributions and topic intensities of literature, define the three-dimensional strategy diagram to distinguish different impact types. Analyzing the output and impacts of colliders from China, Japan and Europe comparatively, then proposing several policy recommendations.
