Abstract:The rational establishment of IP management system is an important means to standardize and guide the commercialization of scientific and research findings in universities and determines the efficiency of this commercialization. This paper comprehensively scans the IP management systems of the top 30 UK universities listed in Times Higher Education 2021 and summarizes the IP management contents of those universities and sequentially embedded them into the process of commercialization of scientific and research findings. In addition, this process includes creation, diffusion and application of scientific research findings. The results show: the IP management activities in the creation stage include the establishment of management institutions, the formulation of IP learning plans, the distribution of rights and interests, the evaluation of IP value, the acquisition of legal rights. The IP management activities in the diffusion stage include establishment of commercial strategies, commercial pricing. IP management activities in the application stage include promoting follow-up services, improving dispute settlement mechanism.
