Abstract:Science and technology finance(T&F) is an inexhaustible driving force for regional technological innovation, and the urban agglomeration collaborative innovation may also profoundly impact the support efficiency of T&F to technological innovation. Based on the panel data of 23 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2019, this paper constructs the collaborative innovation fractal dimension, which can reflect the collaborative innovation status of cities, to research the impact of city collaborative innovation on the support of T&F to technological innovation. The empirical results show that, economic development and government investment are more efficient in supporting technological innovation in the subsidiary area, surrounding area and core area, while R&D spending and financial institution loans are more efficient in supporting technological innovation in the middle area, periphery area and remote area. In addition, for the core area, R&D personnel are more efficient in supporting technological innovation, and moreover, a balanced development of T&F system can support its technological innovation. Finally, policy recommendations are put forward respectively from two aspects: optimizing the pattern of collaborative innovation in urban agglomerations and providing T&F supports tailored to local conditions.
