Abstract:In view of the lack of research on the measurement of the internationalization level of China's science and technology associations, the paper explores the construction of relevant evaluation index systems and evaluation methods. Based on the summary and analysis of the internationalization status of the national societies affiliated to the China Association for science and technology, an evaluation index system for the internationalization level of China's science and technology associations is proposed, which consists of four first-class indicators, eight second-class indicators and nineteen third-class indicators, such as science and technology diplomacy, academic guidance, science popularization and talent service. The combined weighting method of principal component analysis and analytic hierarchy process is introduced to determine the weight of each indicator, The 180 national societies affiliated to the China Association for science and technology are divided into five categories according to discipline categories, and the empirical analysis is carried out using the relevant data from 2015 to 2019. The results show that the level of each indicator of different types of sample societies has been improved, but the level of international development is uneven on the whole. There is a polarization trend in the level of indicators at different levels, especially the first level indicators are generally low. From the perspective of comprehensive scores, all indicators of medical societies are high, with the highest level of international development, while the interdisciplinary category ranks last, and no substantive progress has been made in science and technology diplomacy, academic guidance and science popularization. According to the research findings, it is proposed that the national society should strengthen the internationalization work from the aspects of perfecting legislation, building benchmarking, and promoting classification.
