Abstract:In order to solve the major difficulties related to talents in the construction of new types of think tanks with Chinese characteristics, and explore the factors affecting the occupation performance of Chinese academic research scholars growing into think tank experts, the Brookings Institution experts in the United States are taken as the research objects, and the quantitative analysis method is used to analyze their published results from the basic characteristics of the population(gender, age), education experience(the highest degree), work background (resident situation, professional title), research field and other dimensions, so as to summarize the factors affecting their occupation performance. The results show that male experts are slightly better than female experts in the performance of experts' achievements of Brookings Institution. The older the experts are, the more advantages they have. The experts with the highest degree of doctor are better than those with master's or bachelor's degree. Resident experts are the main force. Senior researchers have significant advantages. Finally, according to the analysis conclusion, this paper puts forward suggestions on promoting the occupation performance of experts in new types of think tanks with Chinese characteristics from the two aspects of talent team and environment construction.
