Abstract:The ability of green technology innovation is not only an important strategic engine to promote China's manufacturing industry towards "Created in China", but also a key element for China to break through the shackles of resources and move towards high-quality development. Taking 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China as a case, based on the configuration framework, the tsQCA method is used to clarify the coordination and linkage relationship between the factors affecting the green technology innovation ability of the manufacturing industry, and analyze the multiple concurrent causal mechanisms and multiple paths that lead to the difference in the green technology innovation ability of the manufacturing industry in different regions. The study found that: (1) there are three configurations of high-green technology innovation capabilities, which are summarized as the capital-based dominant type under human-economic resources, the diversified comprehensive leading type and the economic-natural resources technology transformation-oriented type, and the economic resource input is the main driving force for the improvement of the manufacturing green technology innovation ability in various provinces; (2) There are 4 configurations of non-high green technology innovation capabilities, and the shortage of human resources is the main factor inhibiting the improvement of green technology innovation capabilities in the central and western regions ;(3) There is an asymmetry between the path of high and non-high green technology innovation ability. The research conclusions have important theoretical and practical significance for improving the green technology innovation ability of China's manufacturing industry.
