Abstract:Based on the data of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in the fields of materia medica and pharmacology from 2005 to 2019, enrich the research on pharmaceutical research competitiveness of Chinese institutes from the perspective of obtaining scientific research funds. Construct improved pharmaceutical scientific research competitiveness index (PSCI) from the dimensions of obtained scientific research funds and fund project leader number. And take 48 first-level pharmacy doctoral degree authorization units in China as the research objects to analyze the current situation of pharmaceutical research funding, scientific research competitiveness and changing trend. The results show that, NSFC's funding in the fields of materia medica and pharmacology was mainly general projects and youth science fund projects, and the funded projects number and expenditure presented a trend of rapid growth and then stable development, indicating that the basic research level in the field of pharmacology and pharmacology in China had reached a certain height. The units with strong pharmaceutical scientific research competitiveness are mainly concentrated in the eastern and northern coastal economic zones. The ranking of scientific research competitiveness of pharmaceutical disciplines among colleges and universities shows a consistent trend, and the phenomenon of scientific research resources aggregation is remarkable.
