Abstract:Investigating the difference of the impact of urbanization on green development efficiency in different regions and cities can provide theoretical reference for the optimization of urbanization development strategy in China. Based on the panel data of 262 cities in China from 2010 to 2019, this paper constructs a green development efficiency index system, uses the super-efficiency SBM model to measure the urban green development efficiency, explores the impact of urbanization development on the efficiency of urban green development and analyzes the difference in impact from the perspectives of region and city size. The results show that the average green development efficiency of 262 cities shows a fluctuating upward trend, but there are significant differences between regions, they are the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions from high to low. There is a significant positive "U"-shaped relationship between urbanization and green development efficiency, with an inflection point of 74.96%. The larger the city scale, the earlier the urbanization level will reach the inflection point, then achieving the positive impact on green development efficiency.
