Abstract:This paper takes the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2010 to 2019 as the research object, and expands the traditional β convergence model and the boundary effect model of the Barro formula into a spatial measurement model based on the theoretical mechanism of the spatial correlation of innovation capabilities and the boundary effect of innovation connection. Spatial econometric analysis of the boundary effect of urban agglomeration innovation connection is made in the Yangtze River Delta and the research results show that: (1) The innovation ability of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration has a significant positive spatial correlation, and the innovation ability tends to converge, the innovation connection tends to be closer, and the trend of innovation integration is obvious. (2) The inter-provincial boundary effect of innovation links in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations is manifested as a significant mediating effect, while the core-peripheral boundary effect of innovation links is manifested as a significant shielding effect, and the shielding effect is showing a weakening trend. (3) The level of economic development, investment in science and technology and the level of transportation infrastructure play a positive role in inter-city innovation links, and can increase the significance of inter-provincial intermediary effects and weaken the shielding effect of core-peripheral urban boundaries.
