Abstract:As the backbone of agricultural modernization, agricultural science and technology talents play a key role in the implementation of rural revitalization strategy. In order to clarify the inner framework of competency characteristics of agricultural science and technology talents, behavioral event interview method and grounded theory are adopted to explore the necessary competency elements of agricultural science and technology talents in the context of rural revitalization and fully construct the competency model of agricultural science and technology talents in the new era, including eight dimensions of professional knowledge, professional skills, physical quality, psychological quality, moral quality, innovation ability, risk management and achievement drive. It is expected to provide theoretical reference for selection, training and development and career development of agricultural science and technology talents.
