Abstract:Based on the index system of global urban scientific and technological innovation competitiveness and the sample data of 1006 cities with more than 500000 people, the overall characteristics and driving factors of China's urban scientific and technological innovation competitiveness are deeply analyzed by using statistical analysis, geographical detectors and other methods, and compared with the world, the United States, the European Union, Brazil, India and Russia. The following conclusions are drawn: first, the scientific and technological innovation competitiveness of China's leading cities has shown a breakthrough trend, But the overall level is below the middle level in the world; Second, the spatial differentiation degree of China's urban scientific and technological innovation competitiveness is basically the same as the global average level, and the first degree is higher than that of the United States and the European Union; Third, global connection, social inclusion, economic vitality and environmental resilience are the leading factors affecting the competitiveness of Chinese cities in scientific and technological innovation; Fourth, in terms of enhancing the competitiveness of Chinese cities in scientific and technological innovation, the interaction between economic vitality and social inclusion is relatively strongest, while economic vitality and environmental resilience are relatively weak.
